The Big Barrel app is a must-have item on your Firefly preparation list and here’s why:
After opening the app, it displays a screen with icons of the artist that will be at Big Barrel. You can click on the artist and it will take you to a page that tells you about who they are. The artists Twitter, Facebook, Website, YouTube, and their Soundcloud appear on this page as well. In the top left corner there are three lines and clicking this will take you to the navigation bar. The navigation bar shows the following menu options: discover, schedule, lineup, map festival experience, social, photobooth, festival guide, wristband, and radio.

Schedule
This feature is going to be very helpful for Big Barrel weekend. You have a few different ways to look at the schedule: by time, by venue, or if you click the icon to the left of ‘JUN 26’, it shows you a horizontal layout for each day. If you click on the artist, it takes you to their page which tells you more about them, which is the same as the ‘discover’ feature. To the right of the artists, there is a star you can click. If you click the star, it adds them to your schedule and it will notify you 15 minutes before they go on stage. To view your schedule, you can click the person icon in the top right.

Map
This is where you can see the layout of the festival grounds. There are three map options: festival, attractions, and camping. The festival map shows the festival area as a whole. It includes where the stages are, camping area, Harvest Moon Dance Hall, and more. The legend in the bottom right corner of the map is very helpful when you are trying to find restrooms, water refill station, ATM, and charging stations. The attractions map shows you where the stages are, the Harvest Moon Dance Hall, merchandise, the petting zoo, family area, market, and the BBQ pit. The camping map shows the camping grounds. There are separate areas for 50-amp and 30 amp RV’s, dry RV’s, tent camping, and a companion car parking lot. ‘The Hub’ is in the center of the camping area and there is a general store, market, karaoke, food vendors, Starbucks, showers, and a shade tent. A cool feature that the maps have is that you can place markers wherever you’d like. If you are viewing the festival map and you found an awesome food vendor that you want to go back to before you watch Miranda Lambert Saturday night, you can place a marker on it. Click the icon the has ‘…’ in the top left and choose ‘add a marker.’ The app places a marker for you and now, you can drag and drop it wherever you’d like. You can rename the marker and add a description by clicking it and editing the marker. It is a pretty neat option so that you can mark things on the map.

Festival Experience
This feature allows you to see all the attractions, where you can shop, camping activities, where you can eat and drink, and more. You can search through all the items together or look through them by different categories. If you search ‘eat & drink,’ it shows all the food and drink vendors at Big Barrel. If you click a food vendor, such as Bunting’s Popcorn Station, Inc., it shows their menu items and prices. This will be convenient when looking for a place to grab lunch or a snack.

Wristband
You can register your wristband here! Registering your wristband protects you in case you lose your wristband, it is stolen, or it just stops working. Only the person who registers their wristband or the original purchaser can be issued a replacement wristband. Therefore, Big Barrel doesn’t know it’s your wristband if you do not register it. This is important and it’s pretty simple so register that wristband now!
